Launch of Honduran Changemakers program, 1st edition by ADH

This November 23, 2020, ADH (Asociación Despierta Honduras) launches the call for applications for its program called Honduran Changemakers. The application period will be open for six weeks until December 31.

ADH believes that informed citizens who actively participate in public life contributes to maintaining a healthy democracy and improving governance; two fundamental requirements to create a better country for all of us.

Based on this premise, we created a project called Honduran Changemakers, with the objective of promoting the next generation of Honduran leaders and making them active participants in our society that generate sustainable social change in their respective communities based on democratic principles.

Through online workshops, the selected participants (ages 13-24) will develop skills in public storytelling, power mapping, root cause analysis, asset management, and leadership. Additionally, young national experts with great commitment to the country will teach them about public policies in four main thematic areas: sustainability, economic development, social development and governance. The program will end with the development of a proposal to solve an urgent problem in the eyes of their community. The participants who develop the strongest proposals will have the opportunity to present them in front of political, economic and social leaders of the country in public events organized by ADH.

The requirements to participate are:

1. Have the Honduran nationality.

2. Be between 13 and 24 years old.

3. Have Saturday and Sunday afternoons free from January to May 2021 to attend the virtual workshops.

4. Wanting to lead visionary projects that transform communities.

The application form can be found here:

ADH is a non-profit organization that began its work in 2017. It is made of young professionals concerned about the destiny and well-being of Honduras. Now that the legal status of the association is sorted out, they are taking firm steps towards the realization of their dreams by launching their first educational program for adolescents and young people called Honduran Changemakers.
